Tags & Folksonomy are now active: I need your help!

I’ve bought yesterday a licence for Joomla! Tags at a bargain: 23 euro, and it has been activated since.

I use #Joomla Tags to allow content classification by keywords (Tags), it will be used to create virtual categories to add content into, over coming #Joomla’s single section/category structure.

You can access it using in top menu (http://www.waltercedric.com/tags.html), this will show you the most popular/clicked/used tags…

Folksonomy ???

Folksonomy (also known as collaborative tagging, social classification, social indexing, and social tagging) is the practice and method of collaboratively creating and managing tags to annotate and categorize content. In contrast to traditional subject indexing, metadata is generated not only by experts but also by creators and consumers of the content. Not all 2000 articles are tagged…I can’t just tag them all alone. That is why you are now able to tag articles yourself!

At the end of all articles, there is a small AJAX powered input box, that allow you to enter a set of tag corresponding to the articles. All submitted tags are reviewed and moderated by me of course.

I did invest in that plugin since a lot of persons (including me) have now issues to find the right articles in my homepage. Tagging may help to resolve that issue.

My only regret is that Meta Weblog or Movable XML-RPC API is not ready yet for submitting tags….
