    I was sitting on maybe one of my next motorcycle, in no particular order: Honda CBR1000, Suzuki GSXR 1000 (horrible exhaust), Yamaha R1, Kawasaki Ninja Zx-10R

    The Ducati 1098 being too expensive for what it has to offer (27000 and 32 000 CHF).

    Asimo(Honda robotic flagship) was also this year replacing Luthi, unfortunetaly Asimowas not speaking swiss german...

  • ENGINE: liquid-cooled, four-cylinder DOHC four-stroke with a bore and stroke of 72 mm x 46 mm and four valves per cylinder. The valves are set at a very narrow included angle, allowing the combustion chamber to be very compact, with the intake valves each measuring 27.2 mm in diameter and the exhaust valves measuring 22 mm in diameter. The compression ratio is 12.3:1, with lightweight cast aluminum-alloy pistons. Those details improve combustion efficiency, and more complete combustion is the key to better low-rpm and mid-range response, acceleration and fuel mileage, as well as reduced emissions. The engine powers an integrated close-ratio six-speed transmission.

    CHASSIS: A unique chassis incorporates the best qualities of a compact tubular girder streetbike frame and a twin-spar sportbike frame, and is built using a combination of D-section and round-section steel tubes for an especially smooth ride. Wheelbase is 1,450 mm with 25°15′ of rake and 102&160; mm of trail, again contributing to a comfortable ride.

    All participants of the adult categories did receive an anniversary Shirt. Children were distinguished with medals. Again the start is near the Stadthausquai. The goal being near the woman cathedral Muenster toward stock exchange road. I was there and made some pictures with my old 2MP camera (it is really time to buy a new one ;-) )

    As seen today in front of my apartment in Zürich: KontrolldienstSchwarz entsorgen ist nicht fair.

    This police in Switzerland dig through bags of garbage for improperly disposed items (recyclables/hazardous materials) and for something with your name and address on it so they could send you a fine.

    I really love living in Zürich but I can not imagine the same happening in France Smile

  • Il semble que l'on va au salon de l'auto autant pour voir les voitures que les nombreuses hotesses et trop rare mannequins. Pour la première fois cette année, je n'ai pas voulu moi non plus déroger à la règle. Comme je possède un GA (abonnement général suisse qui me permet de voyager gratuitement pour 1 an dans toute la suisse par bus, train, bateau etc), j'ai en plus profité d'une entrée à 7CHF (4.76€) au lieu de 12CHF (8.16€). Une journée qui ne revient pas trop cher grace à cela, il faisait chaud dans les 7 halls et les boissons n'étaient pas donné (4,20CHF ou 2.85€). Il faut compter 3h30 de train depuis Zurich. 3 minutes de marche depuis la gare de Genève aéroport et vous étes à l'entrée du salon.

    Hôtesses et manequins du salon.

    Cette année, la palme des plus beau mannequins revient sans conteste à LANCIA et en deuxième place FIAT. Vous ne trouverez pas de photo de ces jolis demoiselles sur cette page, et cela pour plein de "bonnes" raisons selon moi. D'abord je doit vous avouer que j'etait très souvent du coté des constructeurs italiens cités (au moins 5 fois, disons au bas mot 30% de ma journée) et que j'en ai bien profité. Pourquoi n'avoir aucune photos d'elle? eh bien même si c'est dur à croire, j'ai eu honte, honte de voir que beaucoup de personnes masculines n'étaient la que pour prendre en photo la scuplturale blonde (elle avait du mérite, elle souriait naturellement à chaque salve de photos), alignés comme des rangées d'oignons à la mitrailler avec leurs appareils numériques. D'un autre coté, moi même je doit avouer que je serai incapable de vous dire quelle modèle, et quelle couleur avait cette voiture, donc dans un sens, Lancia a gagné en notoriété de marque (on doit en parler partout sur le net), d'un autre coté, je me demande si la marque vendra plus de voiture grâce a cette opération? Je crois qu'il faut aussi admirer le professionalisme de ces femmes qui doivent sourire en permanence Chez Fiat, j'ai même eu peur qu'un mannequin n'attrape des rides du visage, tellement son sourire semblait crispé. Les sirènes de Fiat portaient une robe métallique qui bien qu'elle soit magnifique de transparence, de couleurs et sans doute de fraicheur était ridicule de par le bruit produit lorsque elle se déplacaient.

    Pauvre manequins et hotesses, elle doivent être très vite blasées par les milliers de personnes qui passent devant elle, d'ailleur une certaines lassitudes se lisait sur leurs visage... Paradoxe cette années, aucun mannequins du cotés des voitures d'exceptions, comme quoi ces marques semblent avoir compris les règles du jeu. En ce qui concerne les hôtesses, elle arborait des tenues plus ou moins variées, mais jamais vulgaires, peu mettaient en valeur leurs corps. Je reconnais qu'elles étaient toutes très disponibles (comprenez par la, plaquettes commerciales et renseignements), et parlaient toute courrament 3 langues (allemand, francais et anglais). Je me suis rendu au salon le 9 Mars, et elle semblaient déja blasées de se faire draguer en permanence...le résultat des 150.000 visiteurs des 2 jours précédents sans doute. Elle ne refusaient pas la conversation néanmoins, sans doute car le temps semblait long pour elle aussi.

    Je ne suis pas un spécialiste des voitures et ne voulant pas en acheté une dans un futur immédiat, je doit dire que ma vue et mon esprit ont très vite été saturé par le nombre de modèle ainsi que par la foule. Mission impossible pour prendre de belle photos tellement la foule s'aglutinait autour des véhicules. Les quelques photos ci-dessous ont été prise le matin vers 11h. Mon objectif a donc été de m'assoir dans un maximum de voitures et de discuter avec les hôtesses (pourr obtenir des plaquettes bien sur). Pour les photos, j'ai préféré noter les références des modèles qui m'intéresse sachant que je trouverai très rapidement sur internet des photos de qualités professionnelles. Humblement je crois avoir trouvé la la limite d'un tel salon. Si vous n'êtes pas sur la photo, n'en prenez pas, cela ne sert à rien, à moins de ne pas avoir internet.

    Rapsberry Pi Gertboard

    Named after its designer, Gert van Loo, the Gertboard is an IO expansion board for the Raspberry Pi with a lot of flexibility.

    In order to thanks all people (47!) involves in this project, Helvetia Patria has organized a Day in Europa Park (Rust - Germany), the weather was with us (cloudy but still perfectly sunny), and we were able to do as much attraction as we want. For the more intrepid, the Silver Star the biggest and highest roller coaster in Europe 2 to 4 times for example...

    3 ans plus tard...

    Je vis toujours à Zürich, et tout se passe très bien. Pour un européen, les démarches sont simplifiés et pour peu que vous ayez un emploi dans une grande société, les démarches administratives sont réduite et pour ainsi dire transparente. Un européen, peut résider en Suisse 3 mois sans rien demander à personne. Il semble que les conditions soient différentes pour les résidents hors EU. Dans tous les cas, il faut contacter votre ambassade dans la ville ou le canton qui vous intéresse.

    How to convert your driving permit...

    This is probably the most easier part, You'll have to

    • Fill a formular and do a vision test (cost me 10 CHF)
    • Provide an identity picture.
    • Provide the old original license, which will be sent back to your country origin.
    • Go to the Strassenverkehrsamt and pay 
      • 54 CHF for the conversion of the old driving license to the new swiss driving license.
      • 40 CHF fro the new swiss driving license
      • 15 CHF verification of your identity
    • Total costs: 119 CHF

    The new permit arrive with post in less than 3 days.

     How to import Your vehicle...

    This one is more tricky, as it may take more time. If You prepare everything, it MAY be done in a few weeks...or days if you are lucky.

    • If the vehicle was coming as goods at the border, you should have 2 papers, the list of things you bring with You in Switzerland and a formular of the border.
    • You'll have to find an insurance company first for Your vehicle, give all informations You currently have to the insurance and ask for a insurance certificate (versicherungsnachweis), this is a paper which prove that You have an insurance, validity 30 days (can be a fax, it is enough).
    • Go to the road traffic licensing department (Strassenverkehrsamt), and provide all papers, they will give you a appointment for the control of the vehicle characteristics...I first receive a meeting in 2 months! anyway the administration may send You a post letter if they have something closer to offer. That was the case for me, 1 week after, they offered me the Wednesday 3 May 2006 at 9:15.
    • The day of the control (cost 120 CHF), the motorcycle has to be clean and the motor warm. It will take 40 minutes. Bring all papers with you including the motorcycle manual It i more an administrative task for the controller. Looking at weight, noise, gazes and filling a lot of papers. I watch him doing 80% of the control at the desk! If a paper is missing or something goes wrong, You may be able to come back any day between 11:20 and 11:40 to bring the missing paper with. (cost 40 CHF more)
    • The control  will be closed after the controller 3 minutes ride test.
    • You'll to pay
      • Transport cession 58.20 CHF
      • Vehicle identification card: 40 CHF
      • Encashment costs: 30 CHF
      • Vehicle identification plate: 25 CHF
      • Entry obligations: 15 CHF
    • Total costs: 328.20 CHF
    Back to the administration, You will receive your motorcycle plate number (25 CHF), the old  vehicle identity card and it's plate number will be send to the country you come from.
