  • Some remarq about the original Frame:
    This is what a roswell look like when you first buy it. After some pratice, you will rapidly notice that the main frame (for me a big piece of shit) break easily in many places. That&39;s because it was designed for flying indoor. After gluing together the parts, I decided to replace it with something stronger.

    First Idea : redo the frame in the same material.

    My first attempt : using the same material as the original frame ("carton plume").
    It is really cheap, lightner than CFK but I decide it was not the way to go.

    Second idea : use gfk and add glue in some place to improve the original frame
    not tested.

    thrird Idea : do a new one with aluminium tube (instead of CFK, wich is really too expensive)

    Do not forget to cut 2 tennistable ball
    (ping pong) for protecting the motor connections.

    • Aluminium pipes : 12 FF
    • Epoxy glue (90 seconds) : 35 FF
    • Kitchen Aerator : 25 FF

    4th idea, build a bigger roswell based on the small one.

    On order to reuse the computer board, i will use new transistor (same reference as the original, it is only for protecting the board) and dissipator. The circuit board is using too small printed circuit. So I prefer to make an external power circuit.

  • The Roswell Flyer or Draganflyer or HMX-4 flyer were designed by Mike Dammar at www.spectrolutions.com (a very cool man) They all shared a same design, just strong enough to fly indoor. It is the greatest machine i've ever flown, and all friends or people in the street agreed. The price is very high (as expensive as a picollo) but the price range is the same with all rc helicopter : all price can be easily divided by 2! I regret that only a few people can buy this wonderful machine but if you can afford one, do not hesitate : buy one, it is very stable in the air (3 gyro) but still required some helicopter knowledge.

    aquire the HMX-4 at www.spectrolutions.com.
    Model is discontinued and can not be bought.
    This is the Draganflyer, can be bought
    at www.draganfly.com It has a much
    better frame in carbon.
    This is the Draganflyer XP, the big brother of the
    Roswell Flyer. Draganfly corp (www.draganfly.com)
    sell them.
    Glow version, build by a Swiss guy. A pics of this device
    flying was published in RCM magazine.

    (expensive setup). Do not know if it fly. This project is trying to
    build a remote flying plattform and therefore use expensive
    devices to achieve their target.
    Vectron blackhawk, thethered version not so interesting except
    it's low price. ($90) Movered it's principle do not allow the TX to
    loose direct view on ship (infrared beam which act as a fixed
