1. How To

Required: LED Resistor 220 Ohms The resistor (value depending of the LED power) has to be soldered on the longest LED wire
+5 Volts is taken from the connector, you can open the connector and close it without any difficulties
The trickiest part is to solder on pin39 the signal (negative) You should also verify carefully your soldering, this tool may help
Drill a 3mm hole or bigger depending on LED size Final Result

Great Idea Guest-Steve-O-Meter (75.132.40.xxx) 2006-12-28 20:24:02 I ALLWAYS want to know when my hard drive is in use. I built a video editing monster for my studio and it has 8 300gb HDs. The stock LED wasn't enough on my case so I put this mod on my pc so there are now 7 HDLEDs on the front of the case, the CD drive already has one. PS this mod works on all IDE style HDDs, not SATA or SCSI, although SCSI should have one of the pins for activity light, just not pin 39 (someone post it maybe?) Reply | Quote 0   0
