This is the CSM 540. This is the new heading hold gyro from CSM. The HH gyro as probably been the most significant improvement in the hobby since the first gyro. Basically, this gyro allows you to run an extremely high gain setting while telling the gyro how fast you want the tail to move. You get the best of both worlds. This gyro can be used in normal mode (weather vaning) or heading hold (it's not going to move until you tell it too.) The CSM540 has a neat electronic set up and like all gyros works better with faster servos.The CSM 540 gyro has a definitely more solid, aggressive holding power with no perceivable drift. Pirouettes start and stop more precisely and crisply, and the gyro holds the tail more firmly in high speed backward flight.
