With a sort of mechanical Artificial Intelligence :-) As always the machinery is presented at the end of the video. You can locate this level in little big planet easily by searching with cristel or going to the most hearted levels.

There is also another impressive computer is running an artificial life simulation called the "Game of Life," created by Cambridge mathematician John Conway.
The Game of Life, also known simply as Life, is a cellular automaton devised by the British mathematician John Horton Conway in 1970. It is the best-known example of a cellular automaton.
The "game" is actually a zero-player game, meaning that its evolution is determined by its initial state, needing no input from human players. One interacts with the Game of Life by creating an initial configuration and observing how it evolves. from WikiPedia
