Attention: this kind of mod is intended for developer or Joomla site with high number of visitors and facing performances issues.

A small HOWTO, a more comprehensive documentation can be found in my WIKI. A new forum board has also been started for support, bugs and your comments.

Install

The component com_minify like any Joomla component

Check proper installation

1. Use the menu entry "Check/System", at least the file cache at components/com_minify/cache has to be writable by apache/PHP!
2. Activate the URL Builder under "settings"
3. Drag and Drop the Bookmarklet tool in your Firefox Bookmark Toolbar

This is the version 1.0.0. What does this plugin do? More performances for Joomla! with com_minify It is working as described at Reduce HTTP requests with Minify4Joomla and in my WIKI: http://wiki.waltercedric.com/index.php?title=Com_minify   Please use the forum Minify4Joomla Bugtracker  for bugs and the WIKI if you find any error in the documentation. Thanks

 The next version 1.1.0 will have a major new feature: I am currently patching (patch/un-patch through a button) the Joomla! HTML Head Renderer (JDocumentRendererHead) that output the HTML code.

This will transparently minify all JavaScript URL's and CSS that are added by

• Plugin,
• Components,
• Templates,

As long as they use the Joomla! API's. This is more end users friendly and wont require hacking too much around  :-)

Finally I will soon release Akocomment 2.2.5 (the one which is working on my homepage) with comment tracking among other new functionalities...

Please use the tracker at sourceforge and give me (us) ideas of what kind of functionalities You want to see in it. If You want to avoid the hassle of creating an account or do not know how to, You can also use this thread to submit ideas as comments.

My ideas Are:

Since Hashcash is not intrusive, user has nothing to do to enter a comment (the cryptographic anti spammer check occur in the background) SecurityImages use captcha, and so force user to enter character he has read in an image I was thinking since a long time of using a 3rd party authority with is more smarter than me in oder to determine if the comment is a real spam, and I found this: Akismet Automatic Kismet (Akismet for short) is a collaborative effort to make comment and trackback spam a non-issue and restore innocence to blogging, so you never have to worry about spam again. When a new comment, trackback, or pingback comes to your blog it is submitted to the Akismet web service which runs hundreds of tests on the comment and returns a thumbs up or thumbs down. With Akismet, you're always protected up-to-the-second from the latest dirty tricks of spammers. There's no maintenance, no upgrading, no hassle. This work as webservice, so code changes are minimal and quite easy to do

A Plugin system to allow extensions more easily (Plugin can be registered in a linked list or similar) at runtime

Get inspiration from existing commenting systems, or simply be creative!

• BUG (discovered by CS): scanner classes were not using generic database and tablename prefix. An empty dataset of words has trigger a division by 0...the right way is to use the #__ prefix when building a SQL statement....

Version has been released in my download section, at joomla forge, and at demo.waltercedric.com (see it live running and change settings in admin panel)

By the way, Joomla forge host now more than 943 open source projects, and has more than 22537 registered users :-)

What does this plugin do?
