Sony PS3 firmware 1.93 update with caution Print E-mail

Ive just update to 1.93 that fixes the network disconnect issue that some of us had experienced as a result of downloading Firmware 1.92. The version 1.92 was running as expected on my machine. But after the reboot: My PS3 is just displaying me now a message:

Cannot start
The correct hard disk was not found

TRUE I "WAS" having a 250Gb with 10G partition for Linux Opensuse 10.3 in my PS3 (running with firmware 1.92).

Update: a hard reboot has driven me back to normal operation. The scary error message "Cannot start The correct hard disk was not found" has disapeared...

Update2: people running 1.92 and having network connections issues can download the latest firmware 1.93 here (US version). Just put it on a memory card or a usb fat32 external disk

Since I am working in computer science, it will just cost me TIME. TIME top put back the "old" 60GB disk and retry to go to the latest bios. (I also have backup of save in game)

Dear PS3 developer, maybe it is time to add a reporting crash daemon in the next firmware or write more regression tests....

After installing firmware version 1.93,

I am desperate to sort this out. You see my PS3 will not progress beyond the
firmware version report after installing 1.93 from Call of Duty 4 Modern
Warfare.
It tells me to press the PS button but all that happens is all four
lights on the front of the controller flash repeatedly for up to 30 secs and
then go off. After that nothing.
I've tried switching off the PS3 and going
back to it later but I had no joy.
Please can someone help me resolve this as
quickly as possible? Thanks for your time.
Did You tried...

Did you tried with the pad connected through an USB port?
